She had a dream, a dream to conquer the seven swell of the world. And she’s one step nearer to her dreams. Swoon Sayani Das has been suitable to swim all the way through the unfaithful Catalina channel off the props of the USA history through choppy waters for 12 hours 46 twinkles. Sayani has made us proud. Yet, how numerous of us know how she brazened poverty, lack of nutrition demanded any swoon of this elevation, lack of world-class training installations and indeed transnational syncope gear demanded to swim similar long stretches in choppy cold waters of English Channel, Rottnest and now Catalina?
It was sheer fortitude and courage that helped her to inch near to her dreams. Her father Radheshyam Das who’s also her trainer had to indeed engage their house to get finances for Sayani’s English Channel feat, has constantly inspired his son. Indeed for the Catalina passage, he has taken huge loans and hardly knows how he’ll repay them. But his son has made Bengal proud and her parents proud. She eventually completed the 33 km trip down Catalina Channel on 8th June around 12 noon. The waters were choppy and terribly cold. There were seminaries of dolphins on the way. Perhaps harpies too. Yet, Sayani was lionhearted. Three channels over, now she’ll be aiming for further, only hoping some government or commercial houses will come forward to meet the charges of her unborn peregrinations.
