It is said that the owner of this house had a beautiful daughter who was fascinated with dolls. Her obsession reached such a drastic climax that she soon covered the entire house with numerous dolls of every shape and size and type. Soon, a mishap occurred; her smiles faded into death and thus, Putul Bari met with a ghostly fate.

In order to ward off curious trespassers, the poor tenants who live there have literally put up a signboard that says-this place has no ghosts. The truth, but, is seemingly quite alarming. It is believed that the adored dolls of the daughter, which still remain in the house, now worn and torn off, come to life at night and roam around. The spirit of the murdered dancers are said to still dance at the lone terrace and it is even said that the sound of their jewels can be heard on certain nights.
