Salt Lake Sector V is the eastern terminus of the Green Line, Kolkata Metro’s East-West corridor, which connects through to Howrah Maidan and includes India’s first underwater metro tunnel beneath the Hooghly. New Town does not yet have an operating metro station of its own: the nearest is Salt Lake Sector V, roughly 7 km away.
